These came today, measured and machined to specs from Isokangas i Vaasa

Converting the -66 type-1 6V to 12V

 

Bought a Volvo 245 -82 12V rear wipermotor. The wipermotor is found in Volvo 145 and 245 years 69-83. Marked SWF.

Here the Volvo's wipermotor vs. -66 beetle 6V wipermotor.

Opened the two motors and changed the magneto and rotor from the Volvo motor into the -66 motor.

Goes right in without any modifications.

One 12V wipermotor for Beetle -66 and one 6V wipermotor for Volvo.... :D

Got a nice little package from Sweden this week. Because of the price one could think they were made in Gold... :)

Exhaust finished, new oilfilter and fuelfilter fitted. Everything seem'd to be ready.


Tried the first starts the past weekend. Will probably still have to do some tuning on the injectors etc....

Made the exhaust flange today the "low-tech" oldfashioned way. By drilling lots of holes, punching out the center and then clean up the hole with an airfile. Then shape the outer edges with the angle grinder.. :)


All the cooling tin mounted and also petrol tank mounted. Waiting now for the new oilfilter and petrolfilter


All heads tightened to 70Nm.
